14 injured as state-run bus rams parked tanker in Odisha’s Cuttack

Bhubaneswar, Sep 9: At least 14 people were injured on Tuesday morning when a state-run bus collided with a stationary tanker in Odisha’s Cuttack district, police reported.

The incident occurred on National Highway 16 near Chhatilagada, under the jurisdiction of Tangi police station. According to authorities, the bus was en route to Cuttack city from Choudwar when it rammed into the rear of a tanker that had been parked on the roadside for a tyre change.

Police said the driver of the bus lost control, leading to a severe collision that left the front portion of the vehicle heavily damaged.

Emergency responders, including local residents, police, and fire service personnel, quickly arrived at the scene to rescue the injured. All 14 victims were initially taken to Tangi Hospital for treatment.

Two of the injured, whose conditions were reported to be serious, were later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, officials added.
