Berhampur, Aug 22: In a tragic incident, a 10-year-old boy lost his life after being swept away by a drain in Berhampur. The incident took place in the lane no.14 of Laxminrusingh Sahi in the town.
According to sources, the young boy was riding his bicycle when he fell into a drain that was overflowing due to heavy rainfall.
Being informed, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.
After nearly four hours of searching, the boy was found in critical condition. He was immediately taken to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
