Wellington, Aug 29: Former all-rounder Jacob Oram will be New Zealand's new bowling coach.

He will assume charges from October 7, revealed New Zealand Cricket (NZC) in a statement on Thursday.

It can be recalled that Jacob Oram was the New Zealand bowling coach during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Prior to that, he also had a similar role with the New Zealand women’s team during the ICC Women's World Cup in 2022.

His appointment before the Test series in India, is likely to help the Black Caps. He will accompany Gary Stead when New Zealand travel to India. Oram will replace Shane Jurgensen who left his place last year.

As player, Oram played 33 Tests, 160 ODIs and 36 T20Is for New Zealand. Even he has played 18 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. He was part of Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals squads.
