Mumbai, Jan 7: In a historic achievement, Ranveer Singh's film Dhurandhar has rewritten the box office history books by surpassing Pushpa 2: The Rule to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. According to renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Dhurandhar surpassed the lifetime collections of Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, bringing its total earnings to a staggering Rs 831.40 crore in just its fifth week of release.

"This is THE biggest moment in the HISTORY of #Hindi film business. Not long ago, surpassing the lifetime business of #Pushpa2, the highest-grossing film in the Hindi market, seemed unthinkable. But records are meant to be challenged... and shattered – and #Dhurandhar has done exactly that," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

In light of this landmark achievement, Yash Raj Films (YRF) released a statement celebrating the film's success, calling it a milestone moment for Indian cinema.

"DHURANDHAR is not just a film... it's a milestone moment in Indian cinema that will be remembered forever. Congratulations to Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of all time (in a single language). Aditya Dhar's clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling, and unwavering commitment to excellence have set a new benchmark for Indian cinema," the statement read. "We also congratulate every cast member and technician for their contributions. You are the 'Dhurandhars' who made the film explode so loudly and gloriously on the big screen. Thank you for giving us cinema that inspires us to strive for creative excellence."

The film's star, Ranveer Singh, took to social media to express his pride in the film's monumental success. In response to YRF's praise, Singh wrote, "My beloved Alma Mater. Only ever wanted to make you proud!"

Earlier this week, Dhurandhar achieved another significant milestone by becoming the first Hindi film to surpass the Rs 800 crore mark in India in terms of net collections.

Since its release, the film has been widely praised by critics, industry insiders, and audiences alike. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh in the lead role, with an ensemble cast that includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in pivotal roles.

The film is planned as a two-part franchise, with the sequel scheduled to be released during Eid 2026.
