Mumbai, June 27: Actor Vivaan Sharma, who was recently seen in Prime Video's Raakh, has spoken about his role as Sahil Arora and the preparation that went into portraying the emotionally intense character.

In an interview, Vivaan said the action scenes were carefully rehearsed before filming.

"The rehearsal was planned on how the punches would be hit. We also had an action director with us, and we had memorised all our lines," he said.

Speaking about playing a protective brother, Vivaan revealed that he focused on both emotional and physical preparation.

"I worked a lot on it emotionally and mentally. I also did several facial muscle exercises so I could portray screams and pain without hurting my throat. Mentally, I kept thinking about how I would react if something like this happened to my own sister," he shared.

Vivaan also praised his co-star Sonali Bendre and described working with the veteran actor as a valuable learning experience.

"It was a very good experience. I learnt a lot from her. She stayed in character throughout the shoot. Off-screen too, my character Sahil and her character developed a strong bond," he said.

Set in late-1970s Delhi, Raakh follows the aftermath of a brutal crime that devastates several families and leaves the city gripped by fear. The investigative thriller is loosely inspired by the infamous 1978 Ranga-Billa case.

Directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy, the series is created, written and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi. The cast includes Sonali Bendre, Ali Fazal, Aamir Bashir, Akash Makhija, Ramandeep Yadav, Divya Sharma, Vivaan Sharma, Anshul Chauhan, Rakesh Bedi and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.

Raakh is currently streaming on Prime Video.
