Mumbai, Ap 7: Cricket superstar Virat Kohli has hailed the recently released film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, as a “cinematic masterpiece” of Indian cinema.
Posting on Instagram, Kohli praised director Aditya Dhar’s vision and Singh’s performance. “Saw the film today and dare I say that I have never ever seen a cinematic experience like this made in India. It brought out every kind of emotion to the surface and I didn’t flinch once for almost four hours. Aditya Dhar, your talent and conviction is reflected in what you’ve created. Hats off to you. You’re a genius. And although all actors were great in their roles, Ranveer Singh, you have attained a different level after this movie—your performance was beyond brilliant. Absolutely WOW,” Kohli wrote.
Actress Anushka Sharma also lauded the film, applauding both Dhar and Singh. “What a fantastic film you’ve made @adityadharfilms! It takes so much conviction to make an almost four-hour-long film. Gripping and immersive, meticulously crafted, it holds your attention through and through. @ranveersingh, you seized a once-in-a-lifetime character and delivered a solid, flawless performance,” Sharma wrote, also praising the ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and cameo Yami Gautam.
The sequel to last year’s Dhurandhar, the film has achieved remarkable box office success. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that the film crossed ₹800 crore by the end of its second weekend.
This marks director Aditya Dhar’s second venture after his National Award-winning debut Uri: The Surgical Strike, which starred Vicky Kaushal. Dhurandhar: The Revenge also features the hit musical track “Aari Aari,” composed by Shashwat Sachdev in collaboration with Bombay Rockers, adding to the film’s widespread popularity.
