Sambalpur, June 30: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids at four locations linked to Dhanurdhar Biswal, Establishment Officer-cum-Office Superintendent at VIMSAR, Burla, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches were launched following a complaint and are being conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Sambalpur.
A Vigilance team comprising two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), five Inspectors, three Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and supporting staff is carrying out the operation.
The raids are underway at four locations in Sambalpur district, including Biswal's double-storeyed residential house at Dhankauda, another building at Gudesinga, his government quarter at the Medical Staff Colony of VIMSAR, Burla, and his office chamber at the Superintendent's Office of VIMSAR.
Search operations were continuing till the filing of this report. Details regarding the assets unearthed or any further findings are yet to be disclosed by the Vigilance Department.
