Two maoists killed in encounter on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border

Malkangiri/ Bijapur, Nov 9: Two Maoists were killed with a joint team of security personnel on Friday in the Bijapur district on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. The encounter in a dense forest near the convergence of Usoor, Basaguda, and Pamed villages, following intelligence reports regarding Maoist activity in the region.
The operation was initiated by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) after receiving information about Maoist presence in the Usur-Basaguda-Pamed-Tarrem area.
Security forces conducted a search operation in the Rekhapalli-Komathpalli forest area, where they engaged in a confrontation with the Maoists. As a result of the clash, two Maoists were killed, although their identities have not yet been confirmed.
Additionally, the police recovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition, including one SLR rifle and other weaponry.
