Bhubaneswar, June 19: Security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha have reached the final stage. The Commissionerate Police, in coordination with SPG commandos, has deployed a robust security plan following the Blue Book protocol. A total of 133 platoons of police will guard the roadshow route and Janata Maidan event venue.
A motorcade rehearsal will be held today. On June 20, roads from Bhubaneswar Airport to Jaydev Vihar and Janata Maidan, including AG Square and Raj Bhavan, will remain closed from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Senior officials including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, DGP Y.B. Khurania, and SPG teams have inspected the venue. Over 600 officers, including Additional DCPs, ACPs, Inspectors, and Sub-Inspectors, will be deployed. 24 platoons will handle traffic, and 92 lanes along the route will be blocked.
Janata Maidan has been declared a No-Fly Zone. Any drones will be shot down. High-rises and malls along the route are being scanned. Bomb squads and sniffer dogs are conducting thorough checks.
Public entry to the venue is now restricted. Surveillance on hotels and lodges has intensified, with enhanced night patrolling. A high-level security review was held with top police officials to ensure a safe and smooth visit.
