In just a little over an hour, Sahoo transformed ordinary grains of sand into a powerful visual tribute, capturing the essence of Teachers’ Day and the lasting influence of those who dedicate their lives to education.

At the centre of the artwork is a striking portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the renowned philosopher, scholar and statesman whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day in India.

Using fluid and carefully controlled movements of sand, Sahoo brought Dr Radhakrishnan’s portrait to life. The animation beautifully reflects the values associated with teaching—guidance, wisdom, patience and the ability to inspire generations.

The artwork, however, goes beyond a mere portrait. It serves as a tribute to countless teachers who ignite curiosity, shape young minds and leave an enduring impact on their students.

With every movement of sand, Sahoo conveys a message of gratitude and respect for educators whose contributions often extend far beyond the classroom.
