Baripada, April 20: A teacher deployed on census duty has gone missing in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, prompting a police investigation and concern among the education community.

The missing teacher has been identified as Jyotsnarani Sahu, an assistant teacher at Dhenkinenjia Government Upper Primary School under Baripada block. According to reports, she left for census duty on the morning of April 18 but did not return home.

After two days of unsuccessful searches, a missing complaint was lodged at the Baripada Sadar Police Station. The police have since initiated a probe and begun mobile phone tracking to trace her whereabouts. Her phone has reportedly remained switched off since the day of her disappearance.

Sahu was staying in a rented house owned by Suresh Chandra Si in the locality. Her landlord has also filed a separate complaint, urging police to take immediate steps to locate her.
