Bhubaneswar, August 27: A group of public relations officers from Sri Lanka, currently visiting Odisha, embarked on a cultural tour on Wednesday, exploring some of the state’s most iconic landmarks. Their itinerary included the world-renowned Konark Sun Temple, the historic rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka, and the serene Dhauli Peace Pagoda.

The delegation praised Odisha’s rich artistic traditions, diverse cultural expressions, delectable cuisine, and enduring Buddhist legacy. They highlighted how these elements resonated with Sri Lanka’s own cultural roots, emphasizing that such exchanges foster deeper mutual understanding and enhance people-to-people connections between the two nations.

Accompanied by officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Odisha Information and Public Relations Department, and experienced tour guides, the visitors expressed particular admiration for Odisha’s shared Buddhist heritage and inclusive spiritual ethos. They described the visit as “a bridge of friendship,” symbolizing the cultural and historical ties that link India and Sri Lanka.
