Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls begins in Jagatsinghpur

Paradip, May 30: Following the directives of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls commenced across Odisha on May 30. The voter list revision drive has also begun in Jagatsinghpur district and will continue until June 28, 2026.

Under the programme, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits to distribute prescribed forms to voters, assist them in filling out the forms, and collect the completed documents. Voters will also be provided with acknowledgement receipts upon submission of the forms.

Residents whose names already appear on the existing electoral roll have been requested to cooperate with BLOs by providing the necessary information and supporting documents. Eligible citizens whose names are not currently included in the voter list can also apply for enrolment during this special revision exercise.

As per the schedule announced for the Special Intensive Revision, the draft electoral roll will be published after the completion of form distribution and collection. Claims and objections can be filed from July 5 to August 4, while their disposal will take place between August 4 and September 2. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on September 6, 2026.

The District Collector has appealed to all political parties, elected representatives, voluntary organisations, and the general public to extend full cooperation to ensure the successful completion of the voter verification and revision process.
