New Delhi, June 17: Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who was admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Sunday, is currently recovering from a stomach infection, hospital authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, stated, “Smt. Sonia Gandhi is stable and responding well to treatment. Her diet is being carefully monitored, and she continues to remain under observation as a precautionary measure.”
The 78-year-old leader has been admitted to the hospital’s Department of Surgical Gastroenterology. Although her condition is stable, the hospital has not yet finalized a discharge date.
Senior doctors, including Dr. S. Nundy and Dr. Amitabh Yadav, are closely monitoring her health and dietary needs.
Sonia Gandhi was brought to the hospital at around 9:00 PM on June 15 for a stomach-related issue, and her condition is being continuously assessed by the medical team.
