SIR Enters Final Phase in Odisha; 99.86% Voters Receive Enumeration Forms, Over 86% Data Digitized

Bhubaneswar, June 22:The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Odisha has reached its final stage, with just six days left before the June 28 deadline for completing the statewide exercise.

To ensure timely completion, election authorities have stepped up efforts across all districts, focusing on the collection and digitization of enumeration forms.

According to official figures, enumeration forms have already been distributed to 99.86 per cent of the state's electorate. A total of 3,33,51,967 voters have received the forms so far.

Officials said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are in constant touch with the remaining electors to achieve complete coverage and expedite the collection process.

Digitization remains a key component of the revision drive, aimed at enhancing the accuracy, transparency, and efficiency of voter data management. As of Monday, 86.12 per cent of the collected forms had been digitized, covering 2,87,63,417 voters.

The remaining forms are being digitized on a mission mode, officials added.

The information gathered through the Special Intensive Revision will be used to prepare an updated, accurate, and transparent electoral roll for Odisha. District administrations, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Booth Level Officers have been directed to ensure 100 per cent collection and digitization of forms within the stipulated timeframe.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha has urged voters who are yet to submit their enumeration forms to do so without delay. Electors can submit the forms either through their respective Booth Level Officers or online via ECINET before June 28.

The CEO emphasized that timely submission of forms is essential for preparing a comprehensive and error-free electoral roll, ensuring greater transparency and accuracy in the electoral process.
