Bhubaneswar, January 29: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced plans to establish a Flying Training Organisation (FTO) and the state’s first Drone Training and Testing Centre, aimed at boosting the aviation industry and creating job opportunities.

The FTO will be set up at Dandbose Airport in Mayurbhanj, training 50 commercial pilots annually. The Drone Training Centre, located at Rangeilunda Airstrip in Ganjam, will train over 100 drone pilots each year, focusing on applications in agriculture, logistics, and disaster management.

“These initiatives will empower our youth with skills for the future and position Odisha as a key player in India’s tech-driven economy,” CM Majhi said.

Odisha’s Commerce and Transport Department also signed two MoUs at the ‘Wings India 2026’ event to enhance aviation training infrastructure.
