Bhubaneswar, May 2: Odisha government on Friday effected a brief reshuffle in the IPS Cadre.
A 1993 batch IPS, Susanta Kumar Nath has been appointed as DG, Odisha Prisons & Correctional Services.
Home Department Odisha issued a notification in this connection today.
Nath who was serving as Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) on deputation, was recently repatriated to his parent cadre in Odisha.
Before joining the BSF, Nath was serving as Director of the State Forensic Science Laboratory and holding varius key positions in the Odisha Police.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had approved the premature repatriation of Nath to his parent cadre in March 2025 who was on central deputation from 2020.
Similarly, Dayal Gangwar, IPS (RR-1998), who was serving as ADGP, HQrs, has been appointed as Additional DG, Communication.
Prateek Mohanty, IPS (RR-2000), who joined the Home Department after repatriation from GoI, has been posted as ADGP, Police Headquarters.
In another notification released today, Narayan Nayak, OPS (S), AIG of Police, Marine & Coastal Security, has been transferred and posted as SP Subarnapur.
