Senior BJD Leader and MLA Rajendra Dholakia passes away at 65

Nuapada, Sept 8: Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and Nuapada MLA, Rajendra Dholakia, passed away on Monday morning at 11:30 AM while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 65.

Dholakia had been battling severe health issues for several months. Recently, he had undergone a heart transplant and was scheduled to receive a kidney transplant when his health deteriorated. He was admitted to MGM Hospital in Chennai for advanced treatment, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his ailments.

His untimely death has brought a wave of sorrow to Nuapada district and the political circles of Odisha. Dholakia, who first entered the Legislative Assembly in 2004 as an independent candidate, later joined the BJD. He became a prominent leader advocating for the welfare of tribals and rural development in the state.

The news of his passing has drawn tributes from across Odisha, with intellectuals, social organizations, and political leaders expressing their condolences. His loss is deeply felt by both his constituents and the broader political community.
