Balasore, July 13: With the self-immolation bid of a girl student in FM College Balasore that wreaks a state of despair among the parents and guardians across the nation, Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi has come down heavily on the Incharge Principal Dilip Ghosh.
Responding to the vulnerable incident and the filthy practices adopted by a handful of stained Gurus that threw a meritorious expected-teacher to bonfire Sarangi said, the Head of the Department of Education Prof. Samir Sahu who abeted the Samaritan girl to douse petrol on own body and set herself on fire, is nothing but an incubus.
His heinous passion to have illegal favour from a benign taught, led her think of an extreme act like self-immolation.
The inhumane teacher should be inflicted with the sternest punishment as per law, Sarangi added.
Apart from it, condemning the act of sheer callousness and irresponsibilty of the Incharge Principal Dilip Ghosh the MP said, Ghosh demoralized the vivacious lass namely Soumyashree Bisi, a 2nd year Bed(Integrated) student, to opt the extreme as he openly went in favour of the accused HOD instead of probing the complaint impartially. Rather he said, “Your accusation against the faculty bears no ground as the Internal Complain Committee’s findings reveal no fault of Samir Sahu”.
“Similarly specific allegations regarding sexual harassment to the Bed. student by the Education Department HOD Samir Sahu, was also found baseless, having no significant proof to corroborate the blemish act of the faculty.”, Ghosh reportedly said to the girl during a resolution meeting held in the Principal’s chamber.
According to Sarangi, the Principal also threatened the girl to face adverse situation saying her allegations leveled agaist the faculty proved false and fabricated.
The Principal even pressurized the girl then & there to withdraw her complaint, she had earlier submitted with the principal and that was subsequently investigated by the Internal Complain Committee. Taking it heavily, the girl decided to end herself for good, said Sarangi.
Citing gross negligence & apathetic action of the Principal and dilemma of the Internal Complain Committee to address the sensitive issue with solidarity and care, the Parliamentarian said, “ Had she been convinced in a friendly manner to have patience till the inference comes out, she would not have opted to go for self-immolation.”
