Ramayana Part 1 nears Rs 50 crore in domestic pre-sales

Pre-sales for upcoming mythological film near fifty crore milestone

Domestic pre-sales for Nitesh Tiwari's mythological epic have reached Rs 45.96 crore with just three days left until its theatrical release on November 5. Viewers have already purchased 11.01 lakh tickets across 1,708 cinemas, setting the film on a clear path to cross the Rs 50-crore milestone in India. Box office trackers confirm this gross includes blocked seats, while pure ticket sales stand at Rs 36.85 crore. Initial demand relies heavily on opening day screenings, which account for Rs 25.39 crore of the current total. Buyers from the National Capital Region lead city-level numbers with Rs 6.78 crore in purchases. Mumbai and Bengaluru follow closely with Rs 6.08 crore and Rs 5.79 crore respectively. When evaluating state contributions, Maharashtra holds the top position by generating Rs 9.42 crore. Karnataka and Delhi complete the top three regional markets, helping the top ten states account for 85 per cent of all domestic advance sales.

Hindi language and 3D format maintain lead

Hindi language screenings dominate domestic demand, generating Rs 38.70 crore or 84 per cent of overall figures. Regional languages show steady interest, with Kannada bringing in Rs 4.41 crore and Telugu at Rs 2.35 crore. Premium viewing experiences continue to attract large crowds. Hindi 3D shows alone pulled in Rs 21.57 crore, while formats like IMAX and 4DX combined for Rs 8.83 crore despite representing only two per cent of available shows. International markets mirror this domestic trend, as overseas bookings have generated roughly Rs 33.23 crore so far. This intense early interest highlights the global audience's enduring fascination with large-scale cinematic retellings of classic cultural epics. Fans eagerly anticipate seeing Ranbir Kapoor portray Lord Ram alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Raavan.
