Puri, Ap 10: The second phase of the Ratna Bhandar inventory at Srimandir is in progress, with Friday marking the third day of counting. The process, supervised by Justice Biswanath Rath and Srimandir Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, began on April 8 and will continue in phases until April 18.
The outer treasury, containing gold ornaments used during Suna Besha and Rajarajeshwar Besha, is being meticulously counted, photographed, and 3D-mapped. Gemologists are identifying precious stones, producing a detailed record beyond the 1978 inventory, which only listed item names.
Darshan near the inner treasury is suspended, while devotees can access the outer treasury. Ornaments will eventually be handed over to Mekaps servitors.
