Malkangiri, Aug 18: In view of the very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, all schools and Anganwadi centres in Malkangiri district have been ordered to remain closed today.
The directive was issued by the Emergency Section of the Malkangiri Collectorate following a weather alert from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the official notice, continuous downpours across the district have created hazardous conditions, particularly for young children. As a precautionary measure, the administration has ordered the closure of all government, aided, and private schools, along with Anganwadi centres, to ensure the safety of students.
“To avoid any untoward situation and keeping the safety of the children in mind, the undersigned hereby declares closure of all the Anganwadi Centres, all Govt., aided and private Schools of this district,” the order stated.
However, the notice clarified that headmasters, headmistresses, teachers, Anganwadi workers, and other staff members must report to their respective institutions as usual, despite the suspension of classes.
