Bhubaneswar: The World U-8 silver medallist Sattwik Swain with six points emerged champion in the boys category of the two-day long Khordha District U 15 Boys and Girls Championship 2025, which was successfully completed at Viswanathan Anand Chess Hall, KIIT University here on Thursday.

Debaprit Mishra, Manish Mishra and Satya Swarup Tripathy became 1st Runners up, 2nd Runners up and 4th respectively in boys section with five points each.
However, in the girls section, Kumari Subhasmita Priyadarshini, Amruta Priyalaxmi, Moukthika Nayak and Aaradhya Budek became Champion, 1st Runners up, 2nd Runners up and 4th respectively. Subhasmita and Amruta scored 5 points each out of possible six , Moukthika and Aaradhya scored 4.5 points & 4 points respectively.
Top four players of each section qualified for the Odisha State U 15 Boys and Girls Championship -2025. A total of Rs. 10,000/, Trophy and chess books were distributed among six merit winners of each section.
In the closing function Chief Guest Russian IM David Gochalesvili , Guest of Honour Satya Ranjan Pattnaik, President, All Odisha Chess Association, Chief Speaker Bhabesh Mohanty, Jt. Secretary, All Odisha Chess Association, Subhasis Patnaik, Secy., Khordha District Chess Association, Dr. Susanta Sarangi, Member, Khordha District Chess Association, Sarbeswar Sahoo, senior Coach, Lalat Samal ,Vice-President-Kendrapada District Chess Association, Santosh Mohapatra, Secretary, Master Chess Foundation, Former Santosh Trophy Football Player Pradipta Baliarsingh and social Worker Krushna Chandra Mohapatra were present.
