Bhubaneswar: West Bengal boy Sairansh Jha won both U-14 Boys singles and doubles titles in the AITA-OTA Talent Series (TS7) U-12 and U-14 Boys and Girls Tennis Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here on Friday.
Sairansh claimed the U-14 singles title by defeating Suryansh Thatoi by 6-1. However, Sairansh partnering Vivaan Gupta edged out Samay Aagman (Jharkhand) and Sheikh Sarim Nawaz (Odisha) duo by 6-2, 6-2 and won the U-14 doubles title.
Altogether 54 players from across five States, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and host Odisha.
In the boys U-12 singles final, Suryansh Thatoi edged out Divyesh Barik by 6-1, 6-2 and emerged champion. The champion and runners-up of the tournament will get 25 and 20 AITA points respectively.
OTA president Asit Tripathy gave away the prizes as the chief guest of the closing ceremony, in presence of OTA joint secretary Sanjeeb Panda, Administrative Officer Sambit Panda and Tournament referee Itee Pradhan.
