Mumbai, Feb 4: After nearly eight years, Saif Ali Khan is stepping back into the role of a cop for the action-thriller Kartavya. His last major portrayal of a law enforcement officer was in the popular series Sacred Games.
The first look of Kartavya was unveiled on Tuesday during Netflix India's "Next on Netflix" event, where the streaming platform also shared its exciting 2026 line-up. This marks another milestone in Saif Ali Khan’s growing presence in the OTT space, following his successful roles in Sacred Games, Tandav, and the film Vikram Vedha.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Pulkit, Kartavya is set in the heartland of India, delving into the intricate intersections of law, family, truth, and duty. Speaking about the project, Saif Ali Khan expressed his excitement in a press release, saying, "Kartavya is really great, produced by Shah Rukh Khan's company, Red Chillies Entertainment. It's a lovely piece by director Pulkit, and I'm really happy that it's coming out on Netflix."
The film also stars Rasika Duggal, Sanjay Mishra, Saurabh Dwivedi, Zakir Hussain, and Manish Chaudhari in prominent roles. Kartavya marks the second collaboration between Pulkit, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Netflix, following the 2024 crime-thriller Bhakshak, which featured Bhumi Pednekar.
While the release date is yet to be announced, Kartavya promises to be a gripping thriller, further solidifying Saif Ali Khan's stronghold in the digital entertainment space.
