Russian devotee falls ill amid the crowd in Puri Rath Yatra: Rescued by SRU troop

While the Odisha Fire Services wing has put a robust security system in place in & around the Puri shrine on the Rath Yatra 2nd day, a Russian woman who fell ill amid the massive crowd, was rescued by its Special Rescue Unit (SRU) forces on Friday.

Puri, July 17: While the Odisha Fire Services wing has put a robust security system in place in & around the Puri shrine on the Rath Yatra 2nd day, a Russian woman who fell ill amid the massive crowd, was rescued by its Special Rescue Unit (SRU) forces on Friday.

The instant response & emergency care accorded by the SRU troops saved the life of the Russian devotee, said sources.

According to reports, a devotee from Russia fell ill during the Rath Yatra festivities.

Responding instantly to the call, the Special Rescue Unit (SRU) of the Odisha Fire & Emergency Services rushed the spot, rescued the devotee safely, and ensured timely assistance.

Following primary cares, the woman was escorted to the hospital for further observations.

The woman devotee is now under observation, sources added.
