Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: The second round of counselling for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses (MBBS and BDS) at government and private medical colleges in Odisha will begin on Thursday.
Counselling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical colleges, along with seats in private medical colleges, will be conducted initially. The 85% state quota counselling will commence from September 7 and continue until September 11.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will verify the certificates submitted by candidates from September 19. Academic sessions for the selected students are scheduled to begin from September 15.
Odisha currently has 14 government medical colleges offering a total of 1,800 MBBS seats. SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur have the highest intake, with 250 seats each.

VIMSAR, Sambalpur: 200 seats
Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College, Koraput: 125 seats
Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College, Mayurbhanj: 125 seats
Bhima Bhoi Medical College, Balangir: 100 seats
Fakir Mohan Medical College, Balasore: 100 seats
Sri Jagannath Medical College, Puri: 100 seats
Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College, Kalahandi: 100 seats
Dharanidhar Medical College, Keonjhar: 100 seats
Sundargarh Medical College: 100 seats
Phulbani Medical College: 100 seats
Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College, Talcher: 100 seats
Jajati Keshari Medical College, Jajpur: 50 seats
The second-round counselling is expected to provide another opportunity for eligible candidates seeking admission to medical and dental courses in the state.
