Bengaluru startup launches affordable family electric scooter for budget buyers

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer has officially launched its newest family-oriented scooter, naming it Konarc. Pricing for the entry-level model begins at Rs 99,999, while the premium variant reaches Rs 1.47 lakh ex-showroom. Buyers can select from two primary configurations known as the S Line and Z Line, providing a total of six distinct options to match different daily commuting habits.

Next Generation Hardware

Company engineers developed this two-wheeler entirely from scratch using the brand's low-cost EL platform. This fresh architecture supports modern additions such as onboard charging and advanced electronic braking systems. Owners will appreciate the extended 10,000-kilometer service intervals, which keep maintenance costs remarkably low. Riders also gain access to a smart feature called Magic Key, enabling automatic locking and wake-up functions alongside a convenient walking assist mode.

Pushing Performance Limits

Distance per charge remains a core focus for the engineering team. Base versions deliver a certified 100-kilometer range, making them ideal for short city trips. Customers desiring longer rides can choose upgraded battery packs that extend the total range to 161 kilometers. For those seeking faster acceleration, the Z Line pushes the top speed to a brisk 80 kilometers per hour.

Shifting Market Dynamics

Competition across India's electric mobility space continues to accelerate rapidly as companies aggressively target middle-class families. Supported by a recent Rs 1,758 crore capital injection from Hero MotoCorp, the startup hopes to steal market share from established rivals like TVS, Bajaj, and Ola Electric.

Official vehicle deliveries will commence on September 21, starting with the S Line models. Industry experts believe this aggressive price bracket will tempt many traditional petrol scooter owners to finally transition toward clean energy commuting.
