Bhubaneswar, March 25: Day temperatures across the state are on the rise and are expected to increase further in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has predicted a rise of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next three days, indicating intensifying heat conditions.
Despite the surge in temperature, the department has also forecast the possibility of Kalbaisakhi (nor’wester) rainfall in scattered parts of the state.
According to the forecast, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur on Wednesday in parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Koraput districts. On March 26 (Thursday), similar weather conditions are expected in some areas of South Odisha.
On March 27, both North and South Odisha may witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph. The impact is likely to continue on March 28, with parts of South Odisha expected to experience hailstorms along with strong winds of similar intensity.
Meanwhile, Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature in the state on Tuesday at 38.5°C. Bhawanipatna followed with 38°C, while Angul recorded 36.1°C and Bhadrak 36°C, reflecting the gradual rise in daytime temperatures across the region.
