Puri, Dec 25: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Wednesday announced that the ongoing repair work of Ratna Bhandar (treasury chamber) of Puri Jagannath temple will be temporarily suspended from December 25 to January 2.
This decision was taken to prevent overcrowding and chaos during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The temple administration aims to ensure that the religious experience of devotees remains smooth and safe during this time.
The repair work will resume on January 3, adhering strictly to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) formed by the State government.
However, the rituals will be performed on time and special arrangements have been made for smooth darshan.
The Chief Administrator of SJTA has appealed to the public for their cooperation and understanding during this period.
Notably, the repair work began on December 17 and the temple administration made extensive arrangements for the maintenance.
It is pertinent to mention that SJTA is all set to roll out the queue system of Darshan (Dhadi Darshan) from this New Year.
However, the efficacy of the new Dhadi Darshan will be trialed out on December 30 and 31.
