
New Delhi, July 28: The Rajya Sabha was on Monday adjourned for the day amid Opposition protests over the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. The House will reconvene at 11 am on Tuesday for a 16-hour discussion on Operation Sindoor. Key ministers, including Rajnath Singh and S. Jaishankar, are expected to speak, with PM Modi likely to intervene. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will lead the Opposition's arguments.
Meanwhile, discussion on Operation Sindoor began in the Lok Sabha after multiple adjournments. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called the operation a “historic and decisive” step against terrorism, lauding the armed forces’ sacrifices. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and BJP Vice-President Baijayant Panda will also participate. Congress’s Gaurav Gogoi will lead the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, supported by MPs like Priyanka Gandhi and Deepender Hooda. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju urged the Opposition to avoid echoing Pakistan’s rhetoric during the debate.
