Cuttack, June 10: The Raja festival is bringing fresh opportunities for young entrepreneurs in Odisha, with innovative products and business ideas taking center stage at the Raja Carnival in Cuttack. The event aims to provide a platform for startups and small businesses whose products not only meet consumer needs but also have the potential to gain recognition in global markets.

The trade fair has been jointly organized by the Odisha Chamber of Commerce, Laghu Udyog Bharati, and IdeaBricks Entertainment. The carnival has attracted more than 80 young entrepreneurs, many of whom are introducing unique and sustainable products.

One of the most notable exhibits comes from two sisters who have built a business around cow dung-based products. Their range includes footwear such as shoes and slippers, which they claim offer health benefits. In addition, they manufacture a variety of household and decorative items using cow dung, promoting eco-friendly alternatives to conventional products.

The carnival has also highlighted the work of several other young innovators. Priyambada from the Choudwar area has gained attention for her handcrafted scented candles and decorative wax products, which have become popular among younger consumers. Meanwhile, Cuttack-based entrepreneur Subash has drawn large crowds to his stall with his imitation jewellery collection, reflecting the growing demand for affordable fashion accessories.

Organizers believe that entrepreneurship is essential for strengthening both the state and national economy. However, they stress that emerging businesses require access to suitable markets. Since Raja is one of Odisha’s most widely celebrated festivals, the carnival has been designed as a temporary marketplace where entrepreneurs can directly connect with customers and showcase their products.

A key feature of the event is that visitors can also place orders for the products online, enabling entrepreneurs to reach customers beyond the fairgrounds.

The three-day Raja Carnival, being held at the Cuttack Indoor Stadium, was formally inaugurated by Surama Padhy. Organizers hope the event will encourage innovation, support local businesses, and create new economic opportunities for Odisha's young entrepreneurs.
