Puri, Aug 13: The Rahurekha ritual will be performed at the Srimandir.

This event will take place as part of the regular annual rituals, and the Daitapati sevakas will carry out to facilitate the 'Rahurekha Lagi' ritual for Lord Jagannath and his siblings. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) announced that public darshan will be prohibited from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on that day.

During this time, the golden ornaments that were removed from the deities on Snan Purnima will be reattached to the Srimukh of Mahaprabhu. The Rahurekha, which was taken off after the deities were bathed in 108 pitchers of water during Snan Purnima, will be restored.

The ritual is crucial as it addresses the cold fever the deities are believed to suffer from after the bath. Public darshan will resume once the Rahurekha ritual is completed.
