Bhubaneswar, Mar 17: The proposed Kharagpur-Tangi-Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada high-speed corridor will connect nine districts in Odisha: Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Koraput, linking 27 towns and cities across the region.

The entire corridor, spanning 1,102 km through West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, will feature a 522-km greenfield stretch that will pass through Odisha.

Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Odisha government’s Works Department, chaired a high-level meeting on Monday at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss the proposed 6-lane expressway.

This meeting covered various aspects such as alignment, district-wise coverage, economic zones, urban connectivity, and land acquisition for the Odisha portion of the highway.
