Patna, August 26: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday has on Tuesday joined Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar’s Supaul as part of the ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’.
Now in its 10th day, the Yatra gained momentum with the participation of these prominent leaders from the INDIA bloc. The march is covering key areas including Supaul, Fulparas, Jhanjharpur, and Sakri Bazar. Priyanka Gandhi and Revanth Reddy were seen alongside Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders atop an SUV, waving to enthusiastic crowds along the route.
The day’s events are set to culminate with a massive public rally in Sakri Bazar, where leaders of the opposition alliance will address the gathering. Launched on August 17, the campaign aims to spotlight alleged irregularities in the electoral roll, with Rahul Gandhi describing it as “a fight to defend democracy on the streets.” Both he and Tejashwi Yadav have repeatedly accused the NDA government and the Election Commission of manipulating voter lists.
Priyanka Gandhi’s participation is being viewed as a strategic move to connect with Bihar’s women voters, who form nearly half of the state’s electorate. Her presence alongside Rahul and Tejashwi is also seen as a strong message of unity within the Mahagathbandhan.
Congress sources believe that women voters could play a decisive role in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Opposition parties have alleged that the Election Commission, under pressure from the BJP, has removed poor and first-time voters from electoral rolls, particularly in minority-dominated constituencies.
Political analysts argue that the presence of Priyanka Gandhi and Revanth Reddy has elevated the Yatra from a state-level campaign to a significant national movement for the opposition. With growing crowds and heightened participation, Priyanka’s involvement is being described as a “booster” for the ongoing campaign.
Rahul Gandhi has reaffirmed that all INDIA bloc partners in Bihar are working in close coordination ahead of the Assembly polls and expressed confidence that their combined efforts will yield positive results.
