Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled three-day visit to Rairangpur has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. However, on November 4, the President will virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects in Rairangpur from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The proposed projects include the renovation of the Maa Kichakeswari Temple at Khiching and the foundation-laying ceremonies for 37 sacred Jahira worship sites of the Santhal community across Mayurbhanj district. The ceremony was scheduled to take place at Kacheri Stadium in Rairangpur.

Following the cancellation of the President’s physical visit, the district administration has suspended preparations for the scheduled programme.
