Bhubaneswar, Ap 28: The Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) – Odisha Region convened a crucial preparatory meeting at Akashvani Cuttack to devise communication and publicity strategies for the World Audio-Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025.
The prestigious global event is set to take place in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, highlighting India’s expanding role in the global media, entertainment, and AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) industries.
The meeting was chaired by Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), who underscored the importance of effective communication to ensure the summit's resounding success.
"WAVES-2025 will bring together global leaders from the media and entertainment sectors, further cementing India's position on the world stage," Mishra remarked.
Adding to the discussions, Prof. Anand Pradhan from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) stressed the summit's potential to showcase India's vibrant cultural heritage to an international audience.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jyoti Prakash Mohapatra from Tata Power called for well-planned promotional efforts to engage a broader audience and maximise the summit's impact.
The meeting saw the participation of senior officials from key government and media institutions, including All India Radio (AIR) Cuttack, Doordarshan Kendra, and IIT Bhubaneswar.
Their collaboration aims to ensure seamless coordination and robust publicity ahead of the much-anticipated global gathering.
