New Delhi, Dec 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the Veer Baal Diwas celebrations at Bharat Mandap in New Delhi today. During the event, he will also launch the ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan’.
The initiative seeks to enhance nutritional outcomes and overall well-being by improving the delivery of nutrition-related services and fostering active community involvement.
The event, set to begin in the afternoon, will emphasize the crucial role of children as the cornerstone of India’s future.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office on Tuesday, various initiatives will be launched nationwide to engage young minds, raise awareness about the day's significance, and cultivate a spirit of courage and dedication to the nation.
A range of online competitions, including interactive quizzes, will be hosted on the MyGov and MyBharat Portals. Engaging activities such as storytelling, creative writing, and poster-making, among others, will be organized in schools, Child Care Institutions, and Anganwadi centers.
The 17 recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP), who will be honored by President Droupadi Murmu, will attend the programme. These honorees—comprising seven boys and ten girls—will be awarded a medal, a certificate, and a citation booklet as part of the recognition, according to a statement from the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.
The PM will also address the gathering on the occasion.
Notably, PM Narendra Modi declared on January 9, 2022 that December 26 would be observed as Veer Bal Diwas in honor of the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who sacrificed their lives in 1704.
