Prime Minister presents seven key streams for national progress
Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a bold 'Sapta Dhara' framework during his 80th Independence Day address to guide India toward developed nation status by 2047. Speaking from the historic Red Fort on August 15, 2026, he outlined seven distinct streams of national strength designed to secure economic self-sufficiency.
Drawing inspiration from the ancient 'Sapta Sindhu' rivers, Modi explained that modern geopolitical shifts require fresh currents of collective energy. Critical supplies like fuels, fertilizers, and semiconductors are frequently restricted across global markets, making local resilience an urgent strategic priority. This focuses on achieving progress over the next five to seven years that remained out of reach across the previous five to seven decades.
The Seven Growth Streams
Driving Execution through Youth
Maritime states like Odisha, with extensive coastlines and expanding ports, stand to gain substantial export advantages under the blue economy push. Modi emphasized that realizing Viksit Bharat requires an energetic "Reform Express" driven by young innovators, workers, and entrepreneurs. Focused administrative reforms and higher domestic manufacturing standards aim to build lasting self-reliance across critical industrial sectors.
