PM Modi inaugurates Delhi BJP’s new office

New Delhi, Sept 30:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Delhi BJP’s new office in central Delhi.

While gracing the occasion, Modi lauded the BJP city unit’s historic contributions, recalling its role in helping Partition refugees, fighting for public rights during the Emergency, and protecting Sikhs during the 1984 riots.

Addressing party workers, the Prime Minister highlighted that the dream of “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi” could be realized only if the government and the party move forward in unison. He praised the Rekha Gupta-led Delhi government for its initiatives to provide housing for slum-dwellers, upgrade hospitals, introduce e-buses, and clean the Yamuna.

PM Modi also urged Delhi BJP workers to ensure that every citizen benefits from the recent GST rate cut. He called on party leaders to celebrate festivals from all parts of India so that Delhi continues to flourish as a “Mini-India” and remains a symbol of the country’s cultural diversity.

“It is very important for unity that patriotism is strengthened by celebrating festivals from all states here in Delhi,” the Prime Minister said, adding that BJP workers must strive to make Delhi a world-class capital – something that will be a matter of pride for citizens across the country.

He also paid tribute to the contributions of the early founders and stalwarts of the Delhi unit of the Jana Sangh and BJP, including L.K. Advani, V.K. Malhotra, Kedarnath Sahani, Sahib Singh, Madan Lal Khurana, Arun Jaitley, and Sushma Swaraj.

Ahead of the inauguration, PM Modi praised the struggles of Delhi BJP leaders over the decades and expressed hope that the new premises would energise the organisation.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “The history of BJP workers in Delhi has been a unique example of struggle and dedication. Amidst every challenge, they not only kept the organisation alive but also made an extraordinary contribution to strengthening it. I am fully confident that the permanent state office built for them will infuse the organisation with new strength, new direction, and renewed self-confidence.”

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, and other leaders offered prayers at the new state office, located at 5, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, just a few hundred metres from the BJP National Headquarters on the same road.

The new five-storey Delhi BJP office, constructed in the South Indian architectural style on a plot of around 825 square metres, features modern facilities. The basement includes a car park, a conference room, a reception hall, and a canteen. The ground floor houses a large conference hall, while the first floor has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 300. The second floor contains rooms for various party fronts and staff, the third floor is reserved for the state vice president, general secretary, and secretary, and the fourth floor provides rooms for visiting leaders from other states. The fifth floor houses the offices of the Delhi BJP President, the State Organisation General Secretary, and Delhi MPs. (With DD News input)
