Passenger bus fined Rs10 Lakh by Cuttack RTO for multiple violations

Cuttack, July 31: A passenger bus operating under the name "Shivashankar" has been slapped with a hefty fine of ₹10 lakh by the Cuttack Regional Transport Office (RTO) for multiple regulatory violations.
The action was taken on Wednesday after officials discovered that the bus was running without mandatory documents, including a valid permit and fitness certificate. Further inspection revealed that the vehicle also lacked insurance coverage and a valid pollution under control (PUC) certificate.
Cuttack RTO officials confirmed that the penalty was imposed in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act, citing serious lapses in compliance and endangerment of passenger safety.
