Sambalpur, July 22: Odisha State Open University (OSOU), Sambalpur on Monday worked out on prevention of harassment at workplace wherein the Vice-Chancellor urged the student community to fostering an inclusive teaching-learning ecosystem in educational institutions.
Emphasising the gravity of the prevention of any sort of harassment at workplace, the OSOU, organized a workshop on “Gender Sensitization and Prevention of Harassment of Women at Workplace” under the Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013 at its headquarters located at Badasinghari, Gosala, Sambalpur.
The event was graced by Prof. Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Vice-Chancellor of the Varsity, who emphasized the university's commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all.
He addressed the members of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the gathering on the importance of gender sensitization, underlining a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of harassment.
The programme was attended by Registrar Dr.ChittaRanjanSahu, Controller of Finance Nalini Ranjan Sarangi, Advocate Sanjukta Hota, Dr. Suresh Chandra Patel, Sheetal Purnima, Dr.Laxmi Narayan Panigrahi, Dr.Uttam Kumar Pradhan, Suprita Mishra, Dr. Sunita Purty, Dr. Bina Oram, and all faculty and staff members.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness and strengthen the mechanisms for prevention, redressal, and accountability in cases of workplace harassment, especially towards women.
Today’s initiative was a part of awareness to reaffirms OSOU’s dedication to a gender-sensitive, safe, and supportive academic and professional environment across all sacred institutions.
