ORMAS launches Mango Festival 2026 in Bhubaneswar to promote Odisha’s Mango farmers

Bhubaneswar, June 2: The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), under the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, on Monday inaugurated Mango Festival-2026 in Bhubaneswar to provide direct market access to mango growers and promote naturally ripened mangoes from across the state.

The festival was formally inaugurated by Odisha’s Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister, Rabi Narayan Naik, at Sishu Vihar on Nandankanan Road in Patia. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the initiative would strengthen the direct connection between farmers and consumers while increasing awareness and appreciation of Odisha’s rich variety of mangoes.

The festival is being organised simultaneously at four locations in Bhubaneswar—Sishu Vihar, Patia; in front of the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD); Sahid Nagar Durga Mandap; and near Madhusudan Das Park in Pokhariput. Similar mango festivals are also being held across 18 districts, including Angul, Bolangir, Balasore and Sundargarh.

To make fresh mangoes more accessible to consumers, ORMAS has introduced two special “Mango on Wheels” vehicles. These mobile units will travel along designated routes across the city, delivering fresh mangoes directly to customers.

Visitors to the festival can choose from a wide range of premium-quality mangoes sourced from 16 districts of Odisha. Popular varieties available include Amrapali, Dasheri, Lal Sundari, Himsagar, Mallika, Totapuri, Bombay Green, Langra and Banganapalle.

Senior officials of the department, including ORMAS Additional Chief Executive Officer (Finance) Sanjeeb Kumar Singh, attended the inaugural ceremony.

The festival will continue until June 10. ORMAS has urged citizens to visit the festival, support local farmers and enjoy high-quality, naturally ripened mangoes grown in Odisha.
