Pahalgam Attack Mastermind Killed in Joint Operation
In a major counter-terrorism success, Indian security forces have eliminated the mastermind behind the deadly Pahalgam attack. The terrorist, top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Hashim Musa, was killed along with two associates in a meticulously planned action codenamed "Operation Mahadev." The operation represents a significant breakthrough in the hunt for those responsible for the massacre of 26 civilians three months ago.
Meticulous and Swift Operation
The successful strike was the result of a 14-day-long pursuit deep within the forests of Jammu and Kashmir. A coordinated effort by the Indian Army's Rashtriya Rifles, 4 Para commandos, the CRPF, and J&K Police tracked the terror module. The initial lead came from a single Chinese satellite phone signal detected in the Baisaran area. This was followed by crucial intelligence from local nomads, which helped security forces narrow down the terrorists' location.
The final assault was swift and precise. After detecting fresh communications, a joint team located the terrorists' hideout in the Lidwas area. According to sources, the elite 4 Para unit caught the trio completely by surprise, reportedly while they were napping inside a tent. The operatives opened fire, neutralizing all three on the spot.
A Significant Blow to Terrorism
The elimination of Hashim Musa is a major blow to the LeT's operations in the region. The operation is ongoing as security forces continue to search for the remaining members of the 5-to-7-person module. This success is seen as a crucial step towards delivering justice for the victims of the barbaric Pahalgam attack and a testament to the coordinated capabilities of India's security forces.
