Raipur, June 22: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has issued a stern warning to Naxalites, declaring that anti-Naxal operations will continue without pause even during the monsoon season. Rejecting any possibility of peace talks, Shah urged the ultras to surrender and join the path of development.

Addressing a gathering on Sunday, Shah emphasized that the government is committed to its mission of eradicating Naxalism by March 31, 2026. “Earlier, monsoon used to be a time when Naxals got some respite, as rising river levels and dense forests made operations difficult. But this time, we will not allow them any rest. Our operations will continue rain or shine,” he asserted.

Highlighting the success of ongoing efforts, Shah pointed out that over 400 Maoists have been neutralized in separate encounters since January 2023. Among them was top CPI (Maoist) leader Nambala Keshav Rao, alias Basavaraju (70), who was killed in Bastar on May 21 this year.

Reiterating the government’s tough stance, Shah called upon the remaining Maoists to lay down arms and integrate into the mainstream, stating that the doors of development are open for those who choose peace.
