Online booking system launched for key cultural venues in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Sept 11: Bhubaneswar has taken a step towards digital convenience with the launch of an online booking system for major cultural venues, including Rabindra Mandap, Bhanja Kala Mandap and Soochana Bhavan. The initiative, rolled out by the Department of Culture on Wednesday, will allow citizens to book these auditoriums with ease through a newly launched website. Users will also have the option to request refunds if required.

The website was inaugurated by Odisha’s Culture Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, who attended the event as the chief guest. In addition, the minister unveiled the official websites of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi and Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi. These platforms will provide the public with comprehensive information about the activities and updates of all four academies.

The launch took place at the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar during the programme “Mo Swapnara Odisha – 2036” organised by the Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi.

As part of the event, 15 volunteers associated with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign were felicitated for being among the first to actively participate in the national initiative. The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, honoured their contributions.

Moreover, young artists who excelled in a painting competition were awarded prizes, adding a creative spirit to the occasion.
