Bhubaneswar, September 23: In a major development, Shreemayee Mishra, the general secretary and spokesperson of Biju Janata Dal (BJD), has been suspended from the party over allegations of anti-party activities.

Mishra, who also holds the position of general secretary of the party's women’s wing, Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), has recently come under scrutiny for her social media comments that have sparked controversy by addressing sensitive internal party matters.

This suspension follows the earlier disciplinary action taken against former Odisha minister and senior BJD leader Prafulla Kumar Mallik, who was also suspended for similar reasons.
