Odisha: Youth’s body with hands, legs, & private parts severed found near MKCG Hospital

Berhampur, July 15: In a gruesome incident, the mutilated body of a youth— with the hands, legs, and private parts severed—was discovered near the MKCG Medical College playground in Odisha’s Berhampur on Tuesday.
Though the identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained, the man is believed to be around 40 years old. The face and several parts of the body were burned.
As per reports, some locals spotted the body and alerted Baidyanathpur police. Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
According to preliminary investigation, police suspect this is a planned and brutal murder. Based on the condition of the body and the absence of blood at the spot, it's believed that the murder happened elsewhere and the body was dumped here afterward.
An Investigation is initiated into the matter and efforts are on to trace the culprits, said the police.
This murder comes just two months after a Bengali youth was killed and hung near Brahmapur jail. That case also remains unsolved, raising concerns over rising crime in the area.
