Balangir, Sept 11: In a tragic incident, a youth was crushed to death after falling onto the raiway tracks while trying to board a moving train at Kantabhanji Railway Station in Odisha’s Balangir district today.
As per reports, the youth fell from the train as he was climbing aboard, and his foot slipped, causing him to fall under the train's wheels, resulting in a fatal accident.
Upon getting the information, the officials from Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrived at the scene and recovered the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The identity of the deceased remains unclear, although two Aadhaar cards were found in his pocket. One of the cards listed an address in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, while the other had an address from Suktele village in Balangir district.
The victim is believed to have been traveling to Bhopal on Visakhapatnam-Delhi Samata Express. Witnesses reported that he was running towards the train as it was about to leave the platform, and in an attempt to board it, he lost his balance and fell under the train.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
