Cuttack, Sept 4: The Odisha Vigilance has filed a fresh case against Kishore Kumar Sahani, a Senior Assistant at the City Hospital in Cuttack, under the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), for alleged financial irregularities amounting to ₹1,24,15,854.
Sahani is accused of misappropriating government funds during his tenure at the hospital. A case (Vigilance PS Case No. 24/21.08.2025) has been registered under Sections 13(2) and 13(1)(c) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Following the registration of the case, Sahani was remanded to judicial custody until September 16, 2025.
This development follows his arrest on August 23, 2025, when Vigilance officials booked him for accumulating disproportionate assets that were valued at 201% of his known sources of income. Despite being unable to provide a satisfactory explanation, Sahani and his spouse were charge-sheeted. He was later forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, for further proceedings.
